The Team

ModCity was founded by LiPS life.people.space, Conix RDBM Architects, Big Picture and Robin Seijdel. Robin is the main face behind ModCity. He has a background in Sustainable Urban Development and has contributed to the development of several Decision Support Systems. He focusses on the substantive aspects, whilst not ignoring the strategic & political components of large projects. In projects he often has the role of “Chief Information Officer”, but he also acts as a consultant for financial and other issues, such as land use, sustainability and mobility. For each project a specific team is assembled.

Our mission is simplifying complexity

The mission of ModCity is to improve and speed up the Urban Development decision making process, by making the complexity manageable. We believe that providing more quantifiable data as early as possible, creates a better basis for decisions. A good term for this is the “Common Operational Picture”. By separating the factual information from the subjective & political aspects, the discourse will be about the latter, as it should be.

Our Ecosystem

LiPS believes in refining the relationship between life, people and spaces through the formulation of innovative, future-oriented solutions of the highest quality. They offer answers to various social challenges—for today and tomorrow. LiPS tailors a multi-disciplinary team of experts to each specific project. This approach combines internal and external expertise, ranging across diverse fields of activity, ages, genders and cultures. Every project begins from a widely supported ‘we’ story.

With Big Picture, we fulfill the role required to create and preserve values in projects across the entire playing field of spatial development: from consulting to (delegated or self) development, from small buildings to large complex area developments, from redevelopment to new construction, in the city and beyond, and everything in between. With an emphasis on sustainability, circularity and fairness.
